I've never done a flip but for spins i usually just build a jump about waist high with a good lip on it.

depends which hill i go too. sometimes i go to this big hill where i dont make the ramp as big, about almsot waist high.

Most of the time it is about waist high though.

I cannot stand little kids who come up to you and ask to use it, when they end up wrecking it or going down anyway.

I know its so annoying. Like your out there busting your but to get it nice and fixed after every kid goes and ruins it.

Yah they do. Pretty much anyone who is using a mad river rocket messes it up. Even mad river rockets can mess them up.
Its just sucks to see your run get demolished.

It also depends on what kinda snow you made the jump of. Like if it's powder anything will demolish it. Wet snow is the easiest to make a jump out of and it won't easily get demolished.

Some times i just pile a big lump of powder and throw some water on it. It either freezes or makes it wet so you can shape it. But in RI it's a big surprise to have powder because we usually get wet snow.

we make a big pile of snow, pound it down to condense the snow, shape it up nicely, and then if its powder we put some hot water on it.

Jumps which type do you use for ticks? Empty jumps and flips and stuff

Post  Finn Grant Sun Sep 13, 2009 12:41 pm

yeah even though i didnt quite get a frontflip i still think you need a decent amount of speed and a steep jump with a good lip. learning to do a frontflip was relativley easy, i built a jump that was shoulder height, and put a lot of pow on the landing so i coculd be forgiven for my mistakes. the first thing i did after that was go off the jump and do 3/4th o a frontflip WITHOUT tucking so you land on your back, it sounds painful but if you have the powder there like i did it dosent hurt at all, its actually pretty comfertable! ok tucking was something i had a lot of trouble with. but what i finally did was just after throwing my arms down to get rotation was just grab the the lip of plastic at the top of the mrr. it didnt feel like a was tucking but it sorta worked. of course if you put the strap over you knees tucking is only something you will use for spinning faster but for those of us that put it over your calfs, is a little bit harder. hopefully next year ill be able to get a legit frontflip and maybe just maybe learn a superman, which would be awseome... Shocked ok so to see my frontflip my frontflip im the grantmrrsledding kid on u tube, or just find tsizzles along with his cork 360 vid as well. otherwise steve mull did some in the best of sled jeads three and whit. has one or two in one of his vids.

Yeah it all depends on the hill, ive done a back and front flip off a jump thats only 2 feet high, i just had a steep hill right after the jump. for flat, waist height is good.
