Rails and how to make them? Empty Rails and how to make them?

So I need to make some new rails and I was wondering what's the best stuff to slide on? PVC? Metal? Also if anyone has some good ideas for plans or setups feel free to post them thanks

well if money is not an issue, than some hdpe(high density polyethylene) is the best for the top, thats what they use at terrain parks. however for the value pvc is the best and it slides quite well. if you are looking to build a box than the easiest design is just 4 blanks of wood all screwed together with the pvc on top.
